CRUFC U16s 26 - 31 Kesteven

Cambridge Try Scorers: James Smith (2), Felix Rathbone, Sam Walker
Ideal conditions of bright sunshine and a light breeze, and a first time playing Kesteven conclude the season. Cambridge were quick out at the start with an early try by James Smith, 7 – 0. However the heavier Kesteven pack were able to put Cambridge on the defensive for the remainder of the first half, scoring 3 tries to leave Cambridge trailing 7 – 21 at half time. Cambridge started the second half with the wind in their favour, and perhaps a slight edge in fitness, and responded with two fine running tries by James Smith and Felix Rathbone, then a bulldozer classic by Sam Walker. This levelled the score to 26 – 26, but with time almost over Kesteven got a final try to finish 26 – 31.

CRUFC U16s 10 - 22 Huntingdon

Huntingdon made a spirited start in what were very difficult muddy conditions. Cambridge defended well with great try saving tackles. Cambridge then moved the ball up the field with Robbie Murdoch scoring the first try. However with the wind against them the try was unconverted. Huntington then gathered the ball and with lots of missed tackles equaled the score. Huntington continued to put pressure on Cambridge and before the half time whistle scored another 3 tries one of which was converted.

In the second half Cambridge started positively, with Sam Copeland scoring, however with difficult condition they couldn't recover.

Cambridge Try Scorers: Robbie Murdoch, Olli Venni
Cambridge met old rivals Shelford for the county cup final, with bitterly cold, windy and muddy conditions. A confident start by Cambridge resulted in a try after 10 minutes by Robbie Murdoch, 5 - 0. However Shelford responded vigourously and Cambridge had to defend hard. A great kick and chase from a defensive position gave Cambridge a second try shortly before half time, scored by Olli Venni, 10 – 0. However Shelford almost immediately ran in their first try just as the half ended, 10 – 5. The second half saw tense play with long periods at each end, but it was Shelford who edged the contest with a second try and conversion, 10 – 12.
