CRUFC 40 - 26 Stourbridge
In the final home game of the season, but just before it, Cambridge U17s beat Saracens U17s 78 to nil, then in front of a crowd of nearly 900 spectators, with a sumptious running game, the Cambridge first XV beat Stourbridge by 40 points to 26.
At half-time, the seniors were down by 12 points to 19, with Steve Hipwell and Tom Jubb having scored a try apiece and Elliot Bale converting one of them. Then in the second half, Tom Jubb added another brace of tries, quickly followed by one from Will Lawson. The final and 6th try was scored by a hugely deserving Ben Hunter. Adam White converted two tries as did Elliot Bale. Stourbridge managed a solitary converted try in the second half, making the final score Cambridge 40 points Sourbridge 26.
Tom Jubb's hat-trick made him the deserved Man of the Match
Credit has to be given to a bunch of relatively young men who have done Cambridge pround over this last three months of the season. We must also mention, Glen Remnant's comprehensive and positive coaching.
