For the last game of the first half of the season Cambridge travel to Stourbridge on the edge of the Black Country.
Level 3 is a difficult league to stay in, but Stourbridge, like last week's opponents Wharfedale, seem to have the knack of survival. At the start of the league system they were placed in Area League North (level 4). They stayed there for 15 years, finally gaining promotion to National League 2 as was in 2001 and have been a fixture since.
Stourbridge claim to have the second best rugby facilities in the West Midlands. Indeed it is a neat ground with a 450 seater grandstand, though I would be tempted to take a travel cushion, or you can watch from the balcony of the bar.
Stourbridge always offer a warm off field welcome - on field is another matter. Even though they are currently struggling, Stourbridge are not intending to give up their proud record of never having been relegated and will look to pick up points wherever they can. Cambridge old boy Robbie Hurrell will look to do well against his old club.
Hopefully Cambridge have got the glitches out of their system - as they will need to return to form if they are to come back with points.
