CRUFC 40 - 31 Blackheath

Header

A terrific display of attacking rugby saw CRUFC defeat Blackheath at home.  The day was however marred by injuries to Danny Hunter and Dan Legge.  We all wish them both a speedy recovery.

Mark Taylor's report is here,  and Bob Crooks post match interview is here.

Blackheath's report of the match can be found here.

Our next home match is against Rosslyn Park, Saturday 13th November, 2:00 pm kick-off. Pre-match lunch, both tables and individual places are still available.

Rescue Update - 28th October

Header

A packed Camstead Suite listened to presentations by the committee who have been working round the clock to understand the club's financial position and put together a credible plan that will allow the club to continue. The Cambridge News report of the meeting is here. Importantly members were given an overview of the trading position projected for the seasons ahead and how if that is realised the club can function and pay off its debts. Its needs a massive commitment of cash now, we are half-way there, we need more pledges of money to Mills and Reeve now! Donation forms can be downloaded here.

Steve Bowller made a passionate appeal for donations small large or small, every bit helps. He also pointed out that monies that are deposited with Mills and Reeve are safe, and will only be released provided the banks, the RFU, the HMRC and membership believe that the club can deliver the business plan.

Members attending this, and previous meetings should have received a copy of the rescue plan by e-mail.

Match Day Volunteers

Header

Behind the scenes of the wonderful afternoon of rugby we have just had,  we need a  small army of volunteers to prepare the ground for the match,  help marshall the cars and spectators, work the score boards, run the shop, empty the bins, and clean-up after the match.

We urgently need members to step forward and join the volunteer team for match days so that the burden doesn't always fall and same small group of volunteers.  If you want to help on match days at your club,  email the club secretary indicating which home games you can help at.

Membership Cards and Members Handbooks

Header
Members are advised that the club handbook is now available, and can collected from the club shop/Marquee on match days. We are aware that some members have not received their membership cards, if this is the case,  members are kindly requested to let the acting secretary know by sending an e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
