Beefing up for the Nat 2 Campaign

We are pleased to announce the first set of new signings for the coming season.

  • Jim Wigglesworth - 20 year old utility back from Hull RUFC, and previously Nottingham, currently touring with England U20s Counties in Georgia. Read More.

  • Jethro Rawlings - 21 year old back row forward from Doncaster Knights, and previously Leicester Tigers.  Read More.

  • Martin Wolfenden - second row, from Bedford Athletic, having previously captained the side that has just earned promotion to the national leagues.

  • Calum Miller - prop, from Shelford, and previously Northampton Saints U18

  • Jordan Brew - hooker, from Old Northamptonians

  • Will Allard - prop, from Bedford Athletic

 

Eastern Counties U20s Win National Shield

Eastern Counties U20s beat Oxfordshire U20s in the final of the National Shield, winning a close fought battle 17-12 on 5th May.

Congratulations to Cambridge Locks Gareth Baxter and Elliot Fraser who provided the bedrock for a very dominant EC scrum.

And best wishes from the club to Gareth as he heads to Georgia at the weekend to represent England Counties U20s.

Cambridge Defence make 'Dale work hard

CRUFC said goodbye to loyal servants as the season closed with a home defeat to Wharfedale, which secured the visitors' place in National 1 next year. Wharfedale were made to work hard to penetrate an outstanding home defence that augers well for next season. But the home attack looked a little weary and are hopefully saving their best for next season.

Cambridge Mini Festival a Roaring Success!

Jason Robinson was at Cambridge RUFC mini-rugby festival in Cambridge on 28 April in his role as HSBC ambassador in the build-up to the 2013 British and Irish Lions Tour to Australia. Over 500 children took part in the rugby festival today in age groups from U7 to U12, and over 2000 spectators watched the grassroots rugby festival alongside the rugby world-cup winner and British and Irish Lions legend. Five different clubs took home the honours from the festival, one of the largest in The British Isles.
