Cambridge Edges a Victory over Shelford in Arctic Rugby
The
Cambridge U9s and Shelford were evenly matched with a slight edge going to
Cambridge with 4-wins, 1-draw, and 3-defeats on a cold and windy day. All of the matches were hard fought
with both teams struggling with cold hands and wondering what pulled them out
of their warms beds on such a windy, cold (but dry) morning. Shelford certainly tested our defences
with some good strong (and big) runners who took the ball straight up. Cambridge continued to build on our
approach of support and passing and there were some fine movements with good
passing and support going the length of the pitch resulting in tries. Hats off to all the players for a good
show on a tough day and particular thanks to Joe Brading, Alexander Humphrey,
Alex Barker, and Findlay Brown for playing a 4 v 4 at the end to give the
Shelford second team their third match.
Thanks to our friends down the road, the Shelford players, coaches, and
parents, for a great morning and good solid rugby.
