Under 9s

Welcome to Cambridge Rugby club and the Under 9 team page. This is where the rugby journey continues!

Rugby is a fun game and our principal aim is to encourage children to embrace that fun and teach them the ethos of the game - fair play and respect for your coaches, colleagues and opponents. Girls and boys will be introduced to tag rugby. An important feature of the training at this age is to develop passing, catching and spatial awareness.

Training and matches usually start at 9.30 on Sunday mornings. More detailed information and further updates can be obtained from the age group Team Manager.

This is also the age group where many parents first become involved with Cambridge Rugby club. The Mini & Youth section is run entirely by parent volunteers and Under 9 is where the coaches, helpers and administrators first volunteer their time - and it is extremely rewarding.
