CRUFC “Coach the Coaches” Programme
This season will see the return of the popular coach education sessions led by Bob and his team of coaches.
The sessions, which are open to all M&Y coaches at the club in addition to teachers who are involved with the schools in which we run our Community Project, will not only provide an insight into the coaching the 1st XV and Wanderers squad receive but will also be an opportunity for all the coaches within the club to gain experience of how the senior players approach training and playing from a psychological perspective.
The programme will see 3 sessions held prior to Christmas and based around the key issues surrounding skills development, spatial awareness, and decision making. The final session will be delivered towards the end of the season and will focus on game related off/pre season training and conditioning for all of our youth squads.
The sessions will be a valuable resource for all the coaches but, more importantly, they will provide an insight into how the senior squads approach the game, so that as the M&Y players enter the CRUFC Youth Development Pathway at U16, 17 and 18, and look to join the development squad they will have a clear understanding of the “Cambridge approach” to our game.
The first session is scheduled for Tuesday September 13th and is based on the theme of “Understanding the game and how to play what’s in front of you”
The next sessions will be held on Tuesday October 18th, Tuesday November 22nd, and a date TBC sometime in April 2012.
