NORTHAMPTON SAINTS TOURNAMENT WINNERS FOR THE 3rd CONSECUTIVE TIME !

Our 2008/09 campaign started with a core of 35 boys, during the season we welcomed another 10 allowing us to field 2 strong independent squads, our LIONS and our BARBARIANS, both of whome separately represented the club all over the region.

Last season was our most successful yet, we played 30 matches, won 21, lost 9, placed 724 points and conceded only 353, we retained our Northampton Saints Trophy and the coveted County Cup, only gave away 7 points didn’t drop a game in either tournament.

Representing nearly 20 local schools, some of our boys started as Under 7’s and some just last season, either way, every provision is made to ensure that boys of all ability settle into our lively squads and are proud to wear the "Blood and Sand".

The sustained success of the squad has resulted in the selection of 15 of our boys to participate in a combination of SoR (Schools of Rugby), Northampton Saints EDPG (Elite Player Development Groups) and representing the County and Schools District Squads, which is a credit to the boys enthusiasm and determination.

For training and home fixtures, we generally meet on Sunday at 10.30 ish for a fierce warm up and stretch, forwards and backs receive tailored coaching and we aim to wrap up by 12.30 ish  

EXTRA TRAINING, we are delighted to be able to offer additional fitness and skills training on Tuesday nights from 18.00 to 19.30 or when it gets dark up to mid October

Our 2008/09 Tour took us to Yorkshire with both squads playing Wharfedale and Harrogate, returning home with honours even the boys also managed to hike up and down the dales, without too many complaints.
