Cambridge RFC are delighted to welcome Andy Henderson ahead of next season. Andy joins us on a 2-year deal from Hong Kong Scottish. A centre and full back by trade, Andy has a wealth of experience after playing championship rugby for Ealing Trailfinders and also spells at Jersey and more recently Rosslyn Park. He has also featured for the England Students and Counties teams.
Speaking of his arrival, Richie Williams commented “I am really excited about welcoming Andy to the club. At 30 years of age, he will give our young backline more experience and clear direction in attack. He has excellent leadership qualities and has an impressive skill set which we hope to unlock.”
Andy Henderson,”It was a completely random one really, I had messaged Richie (who used to coach me at University), to congratulate him on the Club’s success of maintaining their National 1 status.
We began talking about what I was looking for and the Club have been absolutely instrumental & brilliant in helping me and my partner return to the UK, assisting with job searches and allowing us to access the Club in the week. Cambridge is a Club that I have played over the years, I have never had an easy fixture against them, watched them go from promotion contenders to relegation fighters, but knowing Richie and seeing what he is doing, it is clear that he is moving the Club in the right direction, in a sustainable manner. Cambridge is a club that has always seemed homely and welcoming as an away player, with a great local following for its home lads. I am very excited about getting stuck into pre-season, meeting all of the other boys & club’s supporters and having Cambridge as a place to call home.”
