What goes on tour...
Under 13s Tour
With the season coming to an end the under 13s embarked on their final game of the season as a touring squad and made a trip up the A1 to face Stamford. We were aware that Stamford had a strong squad and as the whistle went this became apparent. It took a good while for the lads to get into there stride and during this time Stamford managed to build a commanding lead. A discussion at half time and Cambridge came out renewed, playing the type of game we are used to seeing from them over the past season. A good second half performance saw us fight back, alas we were not able to overturn the deficit. It was a good game and showed us what we need to work on. the team showed great character and determination against a strong side and they are certainly a squad that their coaches, parents and club should be proud of.
Thank you, Stamford, great game and good hosts, we look forward to playing you next year.
With the game completed the tour then moved to a wood in darkest Northamptonshire where the lads were able to shoot each other in a game of paintball. The lumps endured, worn as a badge of honour over dinner. We were advised that the bravery of some of the lads was fantastic!
After a night on the town we proceeded to the Wasps training camp where a full training session was provided by the professionals. This was a great learning experience for all the players and they then got to watch the fantastic display provided by the Wasps Vs Saints at the Ricoh Sunday afternoon
What a great end to a season, roll on pre-season.
