Cambridgeshire Cup Under 14s Final
By Jason Dorasamy
A good performance from the boys, but just not there yet!
After weeks of playing sunshine rugby, Cambridge returned to Volac Park with storm Freya blowing across the pitch. With the opposition choosing to play into the wind in the first half. Cambridge played with some good positional play putting the ball deep into the Stags half. With the forwards securing the ball, the ball went out to backs and some good running lines allowed Cambridge full-back Clark MacFarlane to cross the try-line. A good conversion from our fly-half and Cambridge were up 7-0. Stags responded well and a poor tackle allowed Stags to cross the line. 7-5. The rest of the half was spent in the Huntingdon half although another break from Stags took the score to 7-10. The second half with Cambridge playing into the wind, Stags played a more positional game. The defence from the Cambridge team was fantastic with everyone working extremely well. However, after 20 minutes the pressure told and Huntingdon managed to cross the line 15-7. The score stayed here for the remains of the game.
Good luck to the Stags at the Eastern Counties final and for the rest of the season.
