Another good game of end to end rugby today from both the Cambridge lads and the opposition. Cambridge played into the wind at kick off and some good play saw them dominate the first quarter of the game, with the forwards winning the ball a quick pass from Ollie at scrum half allowed the backs to pass the ball down the line with Patrick Mangell going over in the corner. William Dorasamy converted the try and Cambridge were up 7 - nil. Bedford managed to get a try back and converted to 7-7. An infringement from Cambridge allowed Bedford to convert the penalty. Bedford went into half time up 10-7. The second half was much the same with the Cambridge defence holding firmly. Then with a scrum 5 metres out the Cambridge 8 picked up and went blind, Bedford were slow to defend and Daniel Kember went over in the corner. William was unlucky not to covert this. The score now 10-12 Cambridge defended well, unfortunately some strong running from Bedford allowed them to cross the line, the conversion was missed 15-12. The last play of the scrum of the game and the Bedford 8 picked and went, this time Cambridge were slow to react and he went over for a try under the posts, Bedford converted and the referee blew the final whistle, final score 22-12. A very good display of rugby from all players, well done the Bedford Junior Blues and good luck for the rest of the season.
