Testing ourselves against what Norfolk has to offer.
After the disappointment of the game against Bury, Cambridge went on to face Wymondham. Cambridge had to pick themselves up after the disappointment of the first game and were determined to put on a better show, and put on a fine display of rugby, running in try’s from all over the pitch. The hard work from the forwards gave the backs the room to exploit the space, the first try was set up by Jamie Chapman who working hard in defence won the turnover and sprinted down the field, feeling he was being caught and having options to the left and right, passed the ball out for William Dorasamy to run in under the posts, this was the followed with a excellent try from Lewis Moat in the left hand corner, then another from Franklin Scott. The Cambridge side maintained the pressure with further try’s being run in from Clark MacFarlane at Full back, and not to be outdone, Patrick Mangell ran in a try from the wing, a penalty from Wymondham allowed Cambridge to put the ball deep into the corner, a successful catch and drive from the pack and a pop to Daniel Kember to cross the line proved the forwards could work well too. A final try from Ilyas Hairdour running the ball from deep in our own half and out paving a strong defence rounded off a very successful day, an additional 12 points from a possible 14 from the boot of William allowed Cambridge to finish the season well.
