England International Rochelle Clark visited Grantchester Road on Sunday morning to promote girls rugby to over 50 young players at Cambridge Rugby Club’s RFU ‘Inner Warrior’ event.

England’s most capped International rugby player, known as ‘Rocky’ to her many fans, put the girls aged 11-17 through their paces in a series of training exercises before answering questions and telling the girls what it is like to represent your country 137 times and win a World Cup.

Chris Mepham, Cambridgeshire Chairman of Mini and Youth Rugby commented that he “greatly enjoyed the morning at CRUFC and was very impressed with the standard of technique and attitude of the players”.

Cambridge Rubies run U13, U15 and U18 girls teams coached by Level 2 coaches with the help of parent organisers, any girls who would like to give rugby a try should email for details of how to get involved.
